About Me

lowres_8263.jpg

As a Postdoc at Cornell, I study new methods which utilize quantum optics for novel computation. A combination of machine learning and physical computers could improve the speed and reduce the power consumption of mathematical calculations. As a PhD student at Stanford, I investigated ways to improve the precision of atomic clocks which can be used for navigation systems, GPS, and even oil and mineral exploration. Whether I’m at the whiteboard or getting my hands dirty in the machine shop, experimental physics provides new and exciting challenges every day.

Pursuing my passions has brought me cross-country. I discovered my love of physics in my home state of Illinois, found the love of my life in New York, and deepened my love of teaching in California. This journey was only possible through the support of my loving wife and family. I look forward to seeing where my journey takes me next.
